Rice LongGrainBrown LRRice is the third most important cereal grain in the world, after wheat and corn. It originated in Asia, and most of the world’s rice is still grown there. Rice supplies up to half the daily calories of half the world’s population. And unlike many other grains, rice is grown almost exclusively for human consumption. One Sanskrit term referring to rice means “sustainer of the human race.” Brown rice is a whole grain food, with only the inedible outer hull of the rice kernel removed, retaining the bran and germ and thus its many nutrients.

Long Grain Brown Rice

NEW WG stamp ver. 3.AIOne of the ways rice is categorized is by size: short grain has the highest starch content and makes the stickiest rice, whereas long grain is lighter and tends to remain separate when cooked. Medium grain rice falls between the other two types. All brown rice varieties are whole grains, with only the inedible outer hull removed – but none of the many nutrients. Use as a tasty side dish (e.g. pilaf), in casseroles and soups, and in rice pudding.

Rolled Rice

NEW WG stamp ver. 3.AIEnjoy rolled brown rice as a cooked breakfast cereal alone or combined with other cereal grain flakes, in granola or as an addition to soups and casseroles. Grain Place Rolled Rice is processed in a way that increases digestibility, while retaining nutrients and improving storage quality.
